The towering chimney of the Duluth Steam Plant may appear stark against the Lake Superior sky, but in reality it has long been a source of warmth for the City of Duluth. Standing prominently in  the canal, this familiar landmark has become part of the city’s industrial rhythm and skyline. Through geometric form and hard-edged minimalism, Already Settled reimagines the steam plant as both an enduring structure and a quiet symbol of comfort within the cold northern landscape.
