Modern Duluth in the Canal is a series inspired by scenes found along the shore and streets of the Canal in Duluth. Each painting is constructed entirely of hard-edge geometric shapes, where precision meets emotion. Carefully chosen angles, lines, and planes replace traditional brushwork, transforming familiar landmarks into bold, contemporary compositions.

Every shape and shade is selected with the utmost intention — colors layered and contrasted to create movement, rhythm, and atmosphere. The result is a dynamic interpretation of the Canal: structured yet fluid, modern yet deeply rooted in place, capturing not just the landscape but the feeling of being there.
